Meet the Crew

General Managers

Christian and Katherine Funk have lived in the Carson Valley for over 20 years, raising their seven children and building their business.  Both are actively involved in the community, serving in their church, and coaching athletics for Douglas County Club Sports.  Christian enjoys camping, fishing, and classic cars. He and Katherine started Liberty Homes, LLC in 2001 and worked tirelessly to build a strong business that supports local businesses and serves the community’s needs.

Christian works face to face with each of his clients, leading consultations, design, finance and building plans. He manages each project from conception to completion and ensures that each home is built to the highest quality level. Nothing is created without specific planning and his signature of approval. Katherine leads the interior design and is an architectural consultant for every home.  

Senior Project Manager

Jeremy Gardner is the senior project manager of Liberty Homes, LLC. He is the "right hand man" for Christian and manages projects from planning to completion. Jeremy brings to the table an extensive background in managing large scale government and commercial projects.  He specializes in supervising new construction.  Jeremy’s experience and skills ensure that all aspects of new construction work together to guarantee a beautiful and quality finished product.

Office Manager

Karen Gardner has a degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University. She has worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses over the years. She is always available to assist and support our clients, employees, subcontractors, and investors in reaching their goals.

Excavation Superintendent

Greg “Woody” Heckathorn has extensive background with Bing Materials as a heavy equipment operator and plant manager for concrete and material. This experience has provided him with a launching point to use his skills to manage multiple excavation sites with Liberty Homes, LLC. He is a home-grown Nevadan and a Douglas High School graduate. He enjoys the great outdoors and spending time with his family.

Site Superintendent

Morgan Butterfield is our Special Projects Lead. With years of construction experience, his attention to detail allows for him to provide the finishing touches on a project. He specializes in finish carpentry, siding, and detail work.

Site Superintendent

Jared Funk has worked in the construction industry all his life. He has experience with heavy equipment and carpentry. His focus on framing allows him to be a valuable asset in self-performing the framing aspect of construction projects for Liberty Homes, LLC.

Administrative Assistant/Digital Consultant

Laurel Fish Funk has worked in various larger companies from credit unions, medical offices, and digital marketing campaigns. Her expertise in the backend of digital marketing allows her to assist Liberty Homes, LLC with their website and outreach in the community. She assists the general managers with their day to day needs and helps with online correspondence. She is on track to graduate from Brigham Young University-Idaho with a degree in Applied Business Management in July 2024.
